What to expect from the exam?
Do not be afraid. Audiometry is painless and non-invasive.

Pure Tone Audiometry: You enter a soundproof booth, put on headphones, and press a button when you hear sounds (beeps) of different frequencies.

Speech Audiometry (Vocal): You repeat words so we can test your ability to understand speech (crucial for knowing if a hearing aid or surgery will be successful).

Impedance Audiometry: A small probe is placed in the ear to verify the mobility of the eardrum and the ossicles. It is quick and crucial for detecting the stiffness typical of otosclerosis.
